Large manufacturing companies will hire a Maintenance Planner to plan the Work Orders and a Scheduler to schedule the work. This is tracked and implemented using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Smaller businesses cannot afford the salaries of a Planner (about $75,000 a year plus burden rate) and a scheduler (about $80,000 a year plus burden rate). A good CMMS will cost from $5000 up to $100,000 a year.

The Maintenance Plan will include:
- Complete work instructions for each PM frequency, with instructions, parts needed, and pictures or diagrams when available.
